    strange metallic sound

Hi, Our 2013 CX5 Sport FWD auto started making a strange sound. It comes from the front driver's side, and is a subtle metallic sound heard only when the windows are closed and the car is changing speed (slowing or accelerating). It sounds halfway between a metallic crinkling and a fluid, and...

    rear camber adjustment

Looking more closely, it appears that part #16 may be an eccentric in the front of the lower control arm that can be turned to adjust camber. It isn't clear how it is adjusted though. Does one loosen bolt#17 and then rotate it somehow?

    rear camber adjustment

Yes, but that bolt is part #15, according to the Mazda diagram: http://www.zoomzoomnationparts.com/a/Mazda__CX-5/49029033__6225205/SUSPENSION-COMPONENTS/5470555.html The "camber adjusting eccentric" is part #16. Now, the confusing aspect is that #16 in the diagram appears to be a washer on the...

    bike rack on rear

Hi, Has anybody tried using a trunk mounted bike rack on the CX-5? I am nervous about using ours, because the straps put all of the weight on the plastic spoiler over the rear window. Can the spoiler handle this, or is there another way to mount such a rack? Thanks!

    rear camber adjustment

My understanding is that this is an OEM part that is the same as stock. It shows up on several Mazda parts websites.

    rear camber adjustment

Previously, I asked, and there seemed to be consensus that camber cannot be adjusted on the CX-5. However, I see that the main control arm bolt is called a "camber adjusting bolt" -...

    heavy steering effort after alignment

Toe is fine, and the steering wheel is centered. Only passenger rear camber is off, by machine measurement (visually cannot tell). So, there's no adjustment for that? What about camber kits?

what oil to use for an American CX-5 in Asia?

Is there a consensus that 5w30 is the best for engine longevity? Thanks again!

    heavy steering effort after alignment

Dear all, Is there any solution on how to get the rear camber back in spec? Can that get thrown out by a sideways curb bonk? Thanks again!

    heavy steering effort after alignment

The same guy did it both times. I wasn't there to observe the first time, but the second time he seemed to know what he was doing. I am not sure what could have been messed up, as it seems like they put on the wheel reflectors, position the car according to the computer instructions, and...

    heavy steering effort after alignment

I took it back to the aligning shop, and they put the car on the machine again. The front toe was out of spec (negative), and completely different from the last printout. Once fixed, it seems more normal. Not sure how the same machine could change it's mind... However, passenger rear camber...

    heavy steering effort after alignment

I spoke with the dealer briefly, and they said that the EPS might need to be reset after the alignment. Is there any way to do that myself, or do I need to pay them for that?

    heavy steering effort after alignment

The steering effort isn't extremely hard in absolute terms, but is harder that what I recall from before the alignment, and is substantially more than the 2006 Accord (hydraulic power steering) that I drove before using the CX-5 again. I had been thinking Caster or some sort of odd toe-in...

what oil to use for an American CX-5 in Asia?

Well, fuel economy is terrible here in Manila anyway, AC is always on, traffic is very heavy, and efficient driving approaches are impossible. My car reads 18 MPG at the moment and has been as low as 13. On the highway, it is 28-30. My main concern would be what is best for engine longevity...

what oil to use for an American CX-5 in Asia?

Thanks. Just out of curiosity, why does it have a different recommendation in the USA? Is it for the EPA or for colder temperatures?
