Replaced sensor. As it is magnetic, it did have metal shavings on it. Just don't know from where or for how long.
Vehicle continues to drive well. Keeping fingers crossed.
so it is an error code from speed sensor inside the tranny. Is this worth trying to replace???? 10 hours of labor plus sensor, fluid and whatever else pops up
Got the AT light to come on again while I was cruising at 60mph. Only thing I noticed was the speedometer jumped to 80 mph then back down. Then car continued like nothing ever happened. No lurch.
So my hopes are that only a speed sensor needs to be replaced. Preferably an external one!
The code came and went. As a precaution, I took it into local dealer. Dealer says tranny fluid is very dirty and their 'system' reccomends flush. The dealer is also quick to point out that this will either prolong or acclerate transmission failure. Then they quoted me a replaced transmission...
