LOL. I myself was questioning it being a real photo. The slope of the roofline towards the rear is much greater on this image than what we saw from the camouflaged photos.
I could see Mazda sell the CX-50 mainly as a hybrid at a $1-2k premium over the current price. Then they could introduce the new CX-5 as a premium CUV as it likely has an 8sp auto and multi-link suspension. I don’t think we will see a base CX-5 due to the tariff. The Mazda interview mentioned...
Mazda’s CFO made it clear from this vehicle they want to ramp up CX-50 production for the US by not exporting it to Canada and Mexico. Here in Canada they will just sell more CX-5s since we don’t have the Tariff...
Mazda may delay the new CX-5 in the US until the tariff situation is resolved, with the US ramping up more production the the CX-50. An interview this week with Mazda’s CFO mentioned that they may stop selling the CX-50 in Canada and Mexico to help support this.

What I found interesting is that they did not register a trademark for the CX-30e. I wonder if they are considering repositioning the CX-30, enlarging it somewhat to become a variant of the CX-5. Possibly a more sloped CX-5. This is just total speculation on my part.
The comment from Mazda Australia did not confirm a name change, only that they don’t know what the replacement will be called. Mazda has registered in Europe this week new trademarks and it looks like the CX-5 name will continue.
