I worked with it and had to lower the main light setting more than a notch but it is working. The only issue is that now the lighting is almost too dim to read the guages. Guess I will just have to live with it. Thanks for all replies.

This is a safety feature that cannot be bypassed. I think Mazda's whole remote start for the CX-5 is a big letdown. 2 fobs to carry around? Why not just build it into the 1 fob like all other manufacturers.

My display has to be manually dimmed each night. It should dim itself in the auto mode but does nothing. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I have that on mine and was told it is soft illumination at night so you can see the shifter knob more readily. It really is very dim, and IMO, does nothing for ambience.
