    New Bose Stereo Problems

The ALC did not work correctly for me - it significantly altered the tonal balance of the music in addition to adjusting the volume. New radio fixed this as well as 34/35 issue, and overall bad sound. Dollars to donuts you have the bad radio - have it checked!

Only took them 25 minutes from start to finish, and it looks just as good as new. No problems. Obviously if they bungle it, they fix it, right? But my swap was painless. Good luck!

I certainly agree the sound quality is better, naddie! However, to my ears, the system is too bright! I'm experimenting with -2 on the treble! I am also very pleased that the ALC works correctly; I liked the idea but the effect on tonal balance was disturbing. With my working unit, ALC appears...

    New Bose Stereo Problems

My service manager ordered it sight unseen... but obviously ymmv. Ask nicely if they really feel that is necessary, and if you think that isn't warranted, call Mazda Customer Service, or maybe try another dealership... However, they pulled and replace my radio in less than 40 minutes, so it...

BTW, amendment... 35 is PLENTY loud.. maybe not with Jennifer Warnes (Famous Blue Raincoat), but certainly with Blue Rodeo (The Days In Between) and fer sure with My Chemical Romance (Black Parade)! Cheers!

    New Bose Stereo Problems

Hi everyone: Well, I took my Mazda in this afternoon, and my stereo problem is now history! Although he had no info from Mazda, my service manager went ahead and ordered a replacement radio for me a week or two ago. He showed the new radio to me; it had a March 08 manufacture date and a Mazda...

    New Bose Stereo Problems

Mazda Canada replied (finally...) to my emails and confirmed over the phone today that my radio needed to be replaced. They were unaware that my dealership had already ordered one for me, which is being put in this afternoon. I'll let you know if it fixes the problem. Seems like things are...

    New Bose Stereo Problems

Well, still no response from the sleeping giant (Mazda Canada)... after 3 emails... But I called my dealership today, and he was just opening up a delivery which had a new radio for my car. I will be going in on Monday (I hope), to have it installed, and I will, of course let you know what...

    New Bose Stereo Problems

Naddie, I could be wrong, but I think the point is that *your* service manager needs to call *his* service manager (however, things are a mite confused in this thread - and I'm not sure who is talking to whom...).

    New Bose Stereo Problems

I think I am showing my age... I am speaking of Sirius Satellite radio - The pause/play button is used with Sirius Satellite radio, not music CDs. My wife has the car tonight, so I can't quote the section of the manual that describes this, but, if you check the owner's manual, you will see it...

    New Bose Stereo Problems

The play/pause button is for use with digital radio, not cd playback; It *looks* like a play/pause button, but check your owner's manual carefully... I was fooled by that button initially until someone set me straight. I doubt that there will be any change in the function of that button...

    New Bose Stereo Problems

<Chuckle> Well, you might be right... If my service manager doesn't get back to me by Thursday, I'll suggest he call your guy. Until then, perhaps I'll just lurk. Hope your headache gets better soon! Maybe you could listen to some soothing music ;) Cheers!

I agree... I sure don't want the dash opened up and then simply have the faulty unit replaced with another faulty unit... Please report back if/when the swap happens and let us know if it fixes the problem!
