The ALC did not work correctly for me - it significantly altered the tonal balance of the music in addition to adjusting the volume. New radio fixed this as well as 34/35 issue, and overall bad sound. Dollars to donuts you have the bad radio - have it checked!

Only took them 25 minutes from start to finish, and it looks just as good as new. No problems. Obviously if they bungle it, they fix it, right? But my swap was painless. Good luck!

I certainly agree the sound quality is better, naddie! However, to my ears, the system is too bright! I'm experimenting with -2 on the treble! I am also very pleased that the ALC works correctly; I liked the idea but the effect on tonal balance was disturbing. With my working unit, ALC appears...

BTW, amendment... 35 is PLENTY loud.. maybe not with Jennifer Warnes (Famous Blue Raincoat), but certainly with Blue Rodeo (The Days In Between) and fer sure with My Chemical Romance (Black Parade)! Cheers!

Naddie, I could be wrong, but I think the point is that *your* service manager needs to call *his* service manager (however, things are a mite confused in this thread - and I'm not sure who is talking to whom...).

I think I am showing my age... I am speaking of Sirius Satellite radio - The pause/play button is used with Sirius Satellite radio, not music CDs. My wife has the car tonight, so I can't quote the section of the manual that describes this, but, if you check the owner's manual, you will see it...

The play/pause button is for use with digital radio, not cd playback; It *looks* like a play/pause button, but check your owner's manual carefully... I was fooled by that button initially until someone set me straight. I doubt that there will be any change in the function of that button...

I agree... I sure don't want the dash opened up and then simply have the faulty unit replaced with another faulty unit... Please report back if/when the swap happens and let us know if it fixes the problem!
