1/2/3/4 are on one shaft, 5/6/R on another. Each shaft has different input ratios, accounting for the difference. It's more common than you might think with 5 or 6 speed transmissions.

Where did you read or hear this? The only time you'll possibly have a problem is at inspection time - it may fail the visual and/or emissions portions of the inspection..

Invest in a quality instant/quick detailer and some high end microfiber towels. Wipes are a recipe for disaster.

Mike- I assume you drove it at the MPG track day last week? The crusher cars like the one you drove were the previous gearing, and ECU's I'm sure have been tweaked since the crusher cars were built. Linkages have been improved as well. My car should be here next week - I can't wait.
