Can a stock boost, bolt-on MS3 run 12s with drag radials?

I am way, way late on this (been traveling for work since July), but I ran the 255/50-16 BFGs on my car in the early videos. They rub at around maximum turn, but they're fine for using at the track if you don't turn too tightly (that's on the Probe GT wheels, obviously wheel offset will impact...

Anyone thinking of Cobb Short throw?

Ken, do you guys still have the Cobb STS in-stock (they're not shown on your web site)? If so, I want one. Not interested in a shifter that lowers the knob height. Thanks.

    Wholeshots and 60 ft. times

Gotta disagree with that part. The faster I can make laps, the faster the car goes. Don't waste time sitting around. Make passes as quickly as you can. If nothing else, seat time is one of the most important aspects to going fast in these cars.

    1/4 mile times with slip

I went to the track tonight to make a bid for those 12.60s... and snapped the shifter off. Lousy design, drilling a hole in a lever... Anyway... looking for a Cobb replacement. Not interested in the TWM. I do not want the knob lowered. Why don't we get the cool stuff like the SRT-4 guys do?

Can a stock boost, bolt-on MS3 run 12s with drag radials?

I picked up a set of FD RX7 wheels for really cheap here locally. At just over 13 lbs each, they're a great drag wheel. Another great choice is the early 2nd generation Probe GT wheels. They're fairly light, too. You don't want the chrome "swirly" wheels that came on the later cars because...

    1/4 mile times with slip

Thanks for the kind words, guys! I'm really impressed by this little station wagon and I get pretty amused at the way people are surprised by how it runs at the track. On the nights that I get to make a lot of passes, the track workers will say things like, "That thing has to be getting hot!" I...

    1/4 mile times with slip

Well, my interface between my computer and scanner requires a reboot to reset and my computer is busy running simulations for the next couple of weeks, so I'll just post the slips. My two best passes from last Thursday night at IRP (which is not a particularly "fast" track): R/T - .054 60' -...

Can a stock boost, bolt-on MS3 run 12s with drag radials?

They're Hoosier drag radials. 225/50-16s. After watching the vids I realized I need someone who understands FWD burnouts to line me up in the waterbox. The guys at the track pull me too far forward and the back tires end up in the water. They slide instead of holding the car still so that I...

Can a stock boost, bolt-on MS3 run 12s with drag radials?

I don't see any problem with those numbers for what you've got done to the car. Video, as promised - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJE3BXHmB5s&feature=channel_page

Can a stock boost, bolt-on MS3 run 12s with drag radials?

The answer to the original question is,"Yes." 12.91@105 backed up with a 12.94@106. I'll get videos up as soon as I get a chance to digitize them - and this was at IRP, which is not known for being a very "fast" track. The car has a 12.8x in it if I can get it all together on a pass. Now...

    1/4 mile times with slip

Fosters- I do my burnouts in second gear - wheel speed is the key to getting heat in a tire. In my big block truck, I'd hit over 150 mph wheel speed but still be sitting still - you can see how fast that would heat up the tires - http://www.fmosracing.com/videos/burnout.wmv. I zip the tires...

    race a s2000??

A properly driven MS3 will clean the average S2000's clock. A great driver in the S2000 would make it an interesting race. The typical S2000 is a high 14s/low 15s car at the track. They're VERY hard to drive to their potential.

The mounts and bushings help greatly, but it's still a crap shoot by my standards. I still jam 3rd on occasion. I'd agree that the lower mount is the single greatest improvement. A couple of decades of driving RWD cars with great shifters has me a little jaundiced on this particular aspect of...

    1/4 mile times with slip

My Hoosier's agree, powershifting 1-2 works just fine. ;) The only time my clutch has complained is when I've botched a burnout. And man, did it complain. That's also with somewhere around 100 passes on the car, just south of 30 of them now on a drag tire. I've powershifted everything I've...

    1/4 mile times with slip

I went back today, only got to make 3 passes, but my best was a 13.15@105, which is my second-best pass in the car. I had just filled up with gas last night because I didn't expect to go to the track Without that extra 100-odd lbs I may have had a new personal best. Next time! I had a pair...
