Thanks for the detailed input. I thought it would make a difference, but seems more substantial than I previously thought... Noted!

Have you done a coolant flush, ever? I did mine when I had to swap out my evap coil attached to the radiator last year... Maybe about 140-150K kms at the time.

2016~2023 CX-9 41K spark plug change, found NGK plugs in the wild

The good thing is these plugs are easy to change on the fly. I was uncertain as well, so I walked around with my size 8 socket in case I needed to get to it on the fly (with the outgoing plugs too with 50k kms). The head of these are actually surprisingly well made, at least to the naked eye.

I'd be careful with eBay, just because there are so many non genuine products. If you want to stick with a brand, might as well get it at a reputable location. Never had any issues with rockauto. Been trying a new set off Amazon recently, it's working out well. Read a few earlier posts here...

Feels exactly the same. I am walking around with my old set and the number 8 socket in case, but so far so good! Acceleration feels strong and the fuel economy is better!

What plug is this? I'm thinking it's a generic and not one that is specific to the CX9. Could be your problem. Try using OEM or the NGK specific plug mentioned here.

2016~2023 CX-9 41K spark plug change, found NGK plugs in the wild

So just an update, my 2018 CX9 GT is at 171k kms or so. Noticed my fuel economy slip way down from 7.0L/100kms to about 12L/100kms. At the time of this change, I had about 165k kms. The last I changed plugs was roughly 120k, not quite the 64k mark as per the manual. My first change was done at...
