My '99 Protege has a ton of play in the shifter, and I want to replace the bushings since I have the heat shield off for a broken parking brake cable. Thinking about picking up a short shifter if the price is right, too.

Turns out I had nothing to fear. The brake master cylinder is below the clutch master cylinder line, so no brake bleeding is necessary.

Also, I can post pictures of the entire process if anyone will find this useful.

Two quick questions on a clutch master / slave cylinder replacement on my rusty Protege. I also picked up a hydraulic line because all of the parts were so cheap at rock auto. I haven't done a job like this, and I noticed that the clutch is using the brake reservoir for fluid. Maybe this is a...
