What is the optimum tire pressure?

The Autopian just put out an article regarding tire pressure and the author advocates for sticking with the pressure recommended by the car manufacturer. Why Automakers Sometimes Overpressurize Tires And How That Can Affect Your Handling: Ask An Engineer It should be noted that the article is...

Removing Polymer Sealant from Plastic Trim (Success Story - Magic Eraser)

In my experience, Back-to-Black just corrects the appearance of wax (haven't tried with polymer sealant) on plastic and once the Back-to-Black has worn off, you can see the wax again. However, applying Back-to-Black before waxing prevents the wax from sticking to the plastic.

Last Word on Tire Pressure Readout or Lack Thereof?

The ABS module looks at differences in wheel speed, so an underinflated tire will spin at a different speed than a properly inflated tire. The problem comes when all four tires are low. They all spin at the same speed, so the module has no way of knowing that there is a problem.

Are you content with 19” Toyos or replacing them ASAP?

I think they perform poorly in the snow, but maybe that's influenced by the extra torque from the turbo.

    Infotainment ver. 74.00.230A

Mazda doesn't add new features with new versions, so there's probably no reason to upgrade if you aren't having any problems. Upgrading comes with its own risks and may introduce a new issue you didn't have before. As the saying goes "If ain't broke, don't fix it."

    Cleaning Center Console Gear Window?

I agree with sm1ke. You could try hand polishing with Meguiar's PlastX if cleaning it with the rinsless wash doesn't clear it up. But, I feel like we are missing some information here. Did you spill something on it? What's with those hazy spots? It almost looks like damage from a solvent.

    Check Your Spare Tire Pressure

Does is come with a certificate of calibration? $15 seems awfully cheap for a calibrated gauge.

    B pillar water spots?

Aerospace 303 Protectant or Mother's Back to Black work well on matte plastic surfaces.

2017~2024 What's everybody using to remove scratches in clearcoat?

Meguiar's Scratch X has worked pretty well for me to remove light scratches. I also like to use Poorboy's World Black Hole glaze topped with wax or sealant to reduced the appearance of paint imperfections.

Moisture / water in tail lights (LED) 2020 CX-5

I believe I've seen this on my 2019 and the moisture goes away. Keep in mind that sealed lighting assemblies will still have a vent to equalize pressure between the inside and outside of the part, so it likely pulled in some moist air and caused some condensation. Here's Mazda's statement from...

    Paint Correction?

I would try removing them by hand with a microfiber cloth and Meguiar's Scratch X first

    WAZE Question

My understanding is that for Android Auto, Google Maps can use the car's GPS antenna in addition to phone GPS and location services and Waze will only use the phone GPS. Anecdotally, I work for a major automotive supplier the produces infotainment systems and I recall an engineer mentioning...

Mazda Connect (Nav) update for Feb 2021

The help section for Mazda Toolbox says that backups are stored on "secured Naviextras servers". I'm guessing the backups are not the full contents of the SD card, just whatever preferences, addresses, etc. that are user customizable.

Is there a way to reduce steering effort?

The steering in my 2019 GTR is much heavier than it was in my 2010 Mazda 3, but I just got used to it. Now when I drive my wife's Camry I feel like the steering is way too easy!

Stuck in the snow? Don't do this!

Good reminder to keep a shovel in your car and don't be too proud to call for help.
