My understanding is that the head in the Turbos was redesigned (they had a similar issue except it was leaking out coolant) and the non-Turbo is still using the same head as before.
So, what's the question here? Are you wondering if 25.5 MPG is expected with your Turbo? That is exactly what we get with mixed driving with our 2024 Turbo. Exactly. But on the highway we can get 32-33 MPG.
So, since the CX5 is imported, I wonder how much prices are going to rise with the new tariffs? 25%? We want to trade ours in when the CX5 Hybrid comes out.
So we left a cooler plugged into the power port in the trunk and now the car is dead. Jumped it and it seems fine now, but has anyone come up with a way to turn off the port in the trunk when the car is off?
2024 CX-5 Turbo
We have a 2024 Turbo and never heard that sound. Does sound like some sort of pump. Not sure how the headlights would be involved although LED headlights have a cooling fan that can run when the car is off. And there is a Mazda TSB about abnormal headlight noise...
Yes, would not trust them...if they are so sure, have the service dept give it in writing!
We dumped our 2018 because of this risk and traded it in for a 2024 CX5 Turbo. Great car, and now I'm glad for as second reason, the tariffs!
What is interesting to me is our other car is a 2020 Fiat Spider which (other than the motor) is a Mazda Miata. And it has cross traffic alert, but it will also beep if backing towards a stationary object.
Yes, no parking sensors just rear cross traffic alert. So, it sounds like others have found it does not pick up stationary objects which is a shame. If that was a person behind me and not a car it could have been curtains for them.
