my wife commutes about 150 miles each day 6 days a week from central california to the bay area. a few steep inclines and has been averaging about 31-32 mpg. regular gas from costco, usually. I treat with Amsoil PI and run 10-30 xl. but am noticing oil consumption with no leaks.

re: help hello, I had the same thing happen to me(surging at idle). This was after I had just bought the car! I had a misfire. I replaced plugs. It still surged and misfired, ran like crap as you described. So I replaced both coils and it went away. Did u get any codes? Hope this helps.

Yup. It rattles and popped out a code last nite. Sounds like loose springs inside main cat.
