Well I splurged for the intermediate shaft, Mazda P/N GG5125700G. I'll keep everyone posted as to how this turns out.

Does anyone know if the 2.0L models share the same bearing? I'm wondering if this is what happened on my wife's 09 Mazda3. Seems to fit the bill anyway.
