    Protege cam timing.

    Hi All, I fitted new cam belt last Tuesday, took a few pics as its difficult o see marks with moor in car. Anyway, I was looking at them tonight and now I'm concerned I may have belt too lose, be one tooth off or used wrong marks (its been running all week though) I'll try and post some pics...

    Cam timing

    On wife's 1.6 I took a piece of soft pine (wood) about 1/4" thick 2" wide and tapped it between the sprockets to hold them in place. Prevented them turning while I messed about with timing belt PJ

(I just did them wife's car) They will be real easy, need 12 and 14mm sockets (and ratchet) to loosen adjusters and pivots You need to remove undertray to see what your doing (10mm socket) Not sure if its possible to...

    I've just finished changing timing belt on wife's car. Its actually pretty easy (would be simple if I had some sort of lift) I put car up on ramps, then had to use engine hoist to lift front right to remove wheel and put jackstand under chassis As the AC and alternator belts were breaking up...
