Sorry Tale OMG Gareth, that's shocking! You must be totally pi**ed off with Mazda. All that on a 27k miles car is just not good enough. I take it this is all being done on warranty? With you getting a loaner every time? Please keep the blog going with how this all progresses. Anybody else...

How many Brits? Fancy a cuppa?

Vibrating Stick Hi, I've not heard of this problem before but it sounds serious? Loose mountings? Ineffective damping? What do Mazda diagnose? Or are they simply flapping about replacing various bits to try and cure? Can you advise when (mileage wise) the problem started? And what mileage is...

Same problem with TMPS UPDATE: 27APR : So the warning light illuminated again to say pressure/s are low; tyres checked, all were spot on, system re-set pressed, beep but still the warning message remained. Yet another trip to the dealer..... this is getting tiresome. Car is not yet 8 months old.

TPMS woes Ahhhh! Thanks XTman. So that's why the 'sensor' was so expensive and needed HQ permission to replace then. ROOFRAILS BTW, I'd like to fit roofrails to the CX5 but Mazda don't sell in UK as a stock item. I found an US site that sells OE rails for their US models (and they look as...

Ah OK, that may be the trick then. I followed the manual anyway and it failed to re-set. The dealer confirmed that they had to replace a part so I guess it must have been faulty. Not sure if the TPS links into the ABS, don't know how the techy bits work I'm afraid. From my limited knowledge, I...

Hi Mountkeen, when the tyre monitor flashed a warning, I checked every tyre pressure, all good, so I tried to re-set the system but it would not re-set and clear the warning. That's when the dealer got involved. So if you can re-set after a check, you are ok, otherwise get it checked under...

Thank you for the 'test' comments, really good, please keep them coming! I like the styling changes on the Mk 2 and the upgrades appear to address some of the faults on the Mk 1, so I will be taking a closer look at a swap soon. I have a Sport Nav diesel but only 8 months old so maybe it'll be...

What a bad experience and I don't blame you for getting rid, I'd have to do the same knowing that the current problem could be the cause of further (more serious?) problems in the future and that you may have to test the corrosion / perforation warranty. Hopefully for the rest of us, this is a...

My thoughts too, a 2-litre option should be offered. Having said that the new Kuga has the ecoboost 1.6 petrol and that pushes what is a big car along nicely. So maybe the future is big car, small engine shaped?

ISOFIX in as International Standard so any genuine ISO base will fit any genuine ISO fitted vehicle. Look at this site. They also mention the Maxi Cosi specifically. http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/standards/isofix.htm

Just tell dealer that it's unacceptable and car is not fit for purpose, hand him letter to this effect. I think you must give him opportunity to fix, rather than demand replacement car. But accept same car on proviso that if it's not cured completely and with assurance that no damage caused, you...

How many Brits? Fancy a cuppa?

16 months old, is it still under warranty? Or does that 70K mileage take it outside the warranty period? I assume that you have checked all the rubber seals for twists and tears? Sounds like water is running inside the body panels maybe? Is the boot wet also? Water collecting in the spare wheel...

Thanks for the summary PerNash, great that you are happy with the pickup and your new CX. Those ins quotes sound reasonable to me, I guess you went on compare the meercat but look in the rear section of Top Gear too.

Hi SuffolkBoy, Thanks for the comprehensive run down on your CX experience to date; sounds like you are a happy owner. It's this sort of owner generated, no bullsh*t experience and information that makes these threads so interesting and useful. On the same tyres / same axle issue. It's not the...
