Dealership saying drive belt and tensioner?

I have four Mazdas since new (now 3) '14 Mazda3: no tensioner issue '16 Mazda6: tensioner leaked and replaced '17 CX5: tensioner leaked and replaced. (sold) '22 CX5: no tensioner issue (yet) This issue seems to happen with model years '16-'18. Bad tensioner was used by Mazda. DIY-able if you...

Turbo and NA - Let's love them both

I believe you. I still have a '14 Mazda3 (sGT) with 2.5N/A engine. I love driving it, though it is not a manual. Faster than my '16 Mazda6 (same engine), and '17 CX5 (same engine, sold). Not sure about '22 CX5 Turbo....

Turbo and NA - Let's love them both

Got both until a couple months ago when I sold the N/A to a co-worker. Good points from many before me. I want to mention that, MPG wise, Turbo is worse by 1-2 mpg on my commute (mixed 50:50). As many said, very rewarding offline, highway passing, and hill climbing.

    Blind Spot Monitoring Weakness

Do you have to have your turn signal on in a turn only lane? National law requires all automotive vehicles to have operational turn signal devices installed and that drivers use those signals to indicate any lane change or turn. And yes, that goes for turns performed in designated turning...

    CX-5 to be 86ed for CX-40?!

At this point, I am more concerned about transmission. Look is fine with me. There is a rumor that next CX-5 will continue using the current 6-speed. I hope Mazda wakes up... To me, that is the weakness of current gen. MPG, that is. 8-speed helps.

    Ghost in the infotainment

This issue happens more likely to vehicles parked under the sun longer and more often. I have four Mazdas (sold one recently). They spend/t most of their time in garage. This never happens to any of them. Oldest one I got is '14 Mazda3.

    CX-5 Safety Suggestions

The first accessory I bought after getting a new vehicle is a pair of tiny round convex mirror... $2 each.

Crazy Electrical and Start Up Issues plus Warning Lights

My best guess is that the BCM (body control module) is going crazy. (all sorts of strange issues) Search the TSBs. I recall that there is a TSB on BCM. Yours is out of B2B warranty. Get a multimeter to make sure your battery is at reasonable voltage. (12.5-12.6v after parking for a while)

The stealer sure wants a lot for all around brake work

Got four Mazdas until a couple months ago (now three, just sold one). My experiences have been similar. The rear pads wear faster than the front. Dealer told me that brake force distribution does that... among other factors. Around SF Bay Area, brake pad job at Mazda dealers costs about $500...

    CX-5 Turbo vs Non-Turbo

Mazda's turbo feels like a diesel engine. Got two CX-5s myself. '17 CX5 N/A and '22 CX5 Turbo. Sold the '17 recently. I agree with OP's assessment between the two engines.

    Vibrations in 2019 CX-5

Vibration happens(or at its worst) at certain speed.. points to tire balance issue. Flat spot can do that also if you park your vehicle for a while and drive it initially after. That is why cars are transported on cargo ship with tires inflated up to 40 PSI or more.

    What's next for the CX-5?

CX4 is no longer for sale in China. Interesting, right? A model created for China, and it is no longer for sale there. CX-5 remains a strong seller in China.
