I agree with a lot of what you said carperformance3, but the whole 3 months/ 3000 miles thing is bogus and made up by oil manufacturers. i don't know about your shop, but whenever I get my oil changed on my F-150 by my dealer, they put a sticker on the window that says I need another oil change...

those are some expensive o-rings. i am the R&D Manager at an O-Ring company and even the best quality o-rings for service in motor oil we sell for 16 cents. We sell to directly to large companies like Ford and distributors, but $6 for an O-ring is highway robbery even when it is being resold...

i don't know if i am reading your post correctly. are you saying that 18k is about $18K? if so, then you are dreaming. the exchange rate as of today is $1.762 per 1. As stated earlier by someone, 18K is about $32K.

there is a 19% sales tax on vehicles in the UK and they pay an additional 22% import tax. for the current Mazda 3 at say $16,000, they would pay an equivalent of $22,560. Taxes are a b****, but it ain't our problems, it's theirs. I'll let you do the math for the MazdaSpeed prices.

What brand is that muffler? It looks like a generic brand to me, but I could be wrong. It's good that it is stainless steel, but quality might be an issue. You never know with a generic brand.
