I understand the limitations of a chassis as far as payload, trailer weight, tongue weight, etc. But my comment was not about towing at excessive speeds-it was being able to tow at the speed limit on 70 mph. A speed limit that is extremely common throughout our US interstate system. I think...
The black weatherstripping on the passenger side channel of the roof of my 2019 6 is loose and making a flapping noise when I’m on the highway. Anyone know how this detached/attached to the car? Anyone else have this come off? The driver’s side one is also starting to loosen. Odd issue that I...
Good point, and thanks for sharing.
My trailer tires are D load rated and M speed rated / 81 mph (which I of course never do while towing.)
My Jeep owners manual makes zero mention about maximum towing speed. I also pulled up the 2025 Honda Pilot manual and don’t recall seeing anything...
My wife and I were excited to test drive a CX-90 as a potential replacement for our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Then I read the owners manual regarding towing….it basically says you risk major damage of the powertrain if you tow at speeds greater than 62 mph. What’s up with that?? I never speed...
This is a huge positive step for Mazda. I own two Mazdas that fall in the date range of having this potential issue and was not too happy about keeping these vehicles past 70-80k. Before the letter, I was never going to buy another Mazda. This promise restores my faith in the brand.
Very excited to receive this letter yesterday as I own a 2019 6 and 2019 CX5. There was zero chance I was ever going to buy another Mazda before this letter. Chance restored now. Will be looking at a new CX90 in the next 12 months.
There is no debate in my mind. The OEM tires were awful and exhibited the traits I mentioned their entire life. They are not a good tire and I would never buy them again. Not even a question.
Quick Update on my new tires: they are noticeably stickier in cold wet weather. Ride quality is about the same. Handling is noticeably better and more stable-not as much tire bounce on maneuvers where the car shifts it’s weight quickly. I suppose that’s due to a stiffer, more performance biased...
I got the 5% discount by registering an account online with them. Which I didn’t mind doing as I’ve used DT for at least 6 tire purchases in the 15+ years.
I stuffed a piece of packing foam behind the side mirror. It helped but I think it just needs a bigger piece of foam to better dampen the vibration. I’ve got more foam and will try a bigger piece shortly.
The crappy OEM tires are done at 25,000 miles (thank god.). Just ordered a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus that I’m having installed on Friday. I’ve owned these tires before and loved them so I expect I will love them on the 6 as well. Will report back initial impressions post-install.
We’ve had our biggest snow//ice storm of the season this weekend and into today. The Continental Crosscontact lx25 tires are just excellent in the snow/ice. Our kids drive this car the most, and I’m very happy to have these tires on the car now. The CX-5 has been a little beast in the inclement...
