Yes I'll try the gasket it seemed loose. This has been a good car. I only have 108,000 on it. I put new wires cap plugs and related things on it about 4 years ago.

I was thinking that too. I did take the cap off last time and after that the problem went away. Do you think when all that steam collects under the hood it could foul out the plugs via distributor cap?

steam but not over heating I just got on this site don't know jhow to use it yet. I have a problem with mym '96 protege. I.m getting steam around the radiator but not over heating according to my temp gauge in the car. It does sloooowly loose coolant. Could this be a thermostat or water pump...
