    225/40/18's

    Funksilver, I run 225/45s as well on the stock wheel - when carrying many passengers or luggage, my rear tires scrape the inside of the wheelwell when there are bumps/dips on the highway - do you have this problem?

    When you say 'lock up', do you do you get a pulsating/grinding feeling from the brake pedal or are the tires actually locking up and skidding?     As bacarl said, the problem can come if you switch to MT-90. I got the whining noise after switching to MT-90 as well, but adding a couple of ounces of Redline's friction modifier solved it.
