I went with the NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug (LTR7IX-11) which I assume is what you have to. These came with like a .044" gap which was way bigger than our cars can handle. I took them done to .030" gap.
From what I read, the Denso's came pregapped correctly but the NGK's had to be regapped.
Update
Well, Friday will make it one month of having the Hypertech on the car. I really like it. I did change the CAI selection in the tune from Corksport to CP-E Nano for my Cobb SRI based upon Chris's recommendation. Car feels tough as hell.
On my first couple of tanks, my mileage was up...
I have been looking into some drag radials for the Mazda. There is not too much out there to choose from that will fit.
Nitto makes a 245/45-17 in thier original DR but I am not sure that will fit. BFG makes a 225/45-17 in thier G-force Drag radial line that would fit.
MT makes a 205/40-17...
Changed out stock spark plugs for NGK 6510 Iridiums today. Gapped them to .030". Ordered J Barone short shift plate. Ken at PG shipped my Caska Touch screen/DVD/NAV/everything head unit today and I will have it tomorrow for installation. I love it when a plan comes together.....
Results
Well I thought the car felt pretty good after adding the Hypertech programming so I decided to take it to a local shop and see what she would put down on the dyno. It was a Dynojet 224 and it was 80+ degrees outside. I did pulls in both 4th and 5th gear and the results were about the...
The AP is a true tuning device and if you have the ATR SW or a local tuner that has it, you can customize and adapt to whatever mods you have. The Hypertech unit is a set tune with only options for the CAI you use. You cannot do a custom tune for it.
I was looking for something to give me a...
It comes preloaded, but Hypertech had released an update to support aftermarket cold air intakes, so I went to the web and updated using thier update software. Very easy.
The only "Mods" selction it has is for cold air intakes. if you are using an aftermarket intake you say yes, and then pick...
Hell yes
Took it out for an extended drive this evening. This is a completely different car than what it was two weeks ago.
Before last week, the only power mods I had were the Cobb SRI and Forge BPV. Last week I installed the PG turbo inlet pipe and Speedaction (ebay) test pipe. Today, I...
From Hypertech website: Selectable 0-60MPH Electronic Throttle Restriction (Factory, or Removed)
Chris expalined in one of these threads what it means and probably did a better job than me. Since the MS3 has a fly by wire throttle, the ECU softens it when you slam down to WOT. Kind of a...
I just received and installed a tune with mine. I used the update tool to update the tuner to the latest rev from the PC. Updated quickly. I then went out an uploaded the program to the car. I used the Corksport SRI CAI setting becuase I think it is the closest to my Cobb SRI/PG TIP combo...
Yes, they are.
To tell you the truth, I have not been real impressed by any of the dyno numbers I have seen for AP stage 1/stage 2 maps with basic bolts on's (no downpipe, no replacement TMIC or FMIC). Add to that that the selection of OTS maps from Cobb is kind of limited. I am sure that...
