What would help keep the rear hatch cleaner?

Vortex generators on the bottom of the rear bumper?

Not sure there's much you can on the 5... bane of any hatch/flat back design... But, manufacturers don't really do this anymore, I think because it's not good for fuel economy, but on some older pathfinders and various other mini-vans and SUV's you used to have the option to by a spoiler that was tilted in a way that pushed air almost straight down the back of the window, something similar to this... http://tinyurl.com/3qbdgq8

if you don't already have the spoiler, there may be an aftermarket solution similar.

I remember those things, they work like an 'air wash'.

We do have the factory spoiler. I've contemplate cutting some holes in it and somehow diverting some air downward, but I doubt there's any good way to do it.

Maybe someone with a sport model will install a rear air deflector. If it works, maybe I could just swap hatch lids with someone.
