What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Those cv shafts should just pop rite out the trans with a pry bar. Then you need to undo it from the hub. Then once off you must release the retainer that holds the cup to the shaft in order to replace the boot. Then reverse to put it all back. I hope that helps a little

More info than I had this morning, thanks! :)

I tend to grumble, but it is interesting to learn about new-to-me technology.

Does the p/s axle disconnect from the intermediate shaft (and the intermediate shaft from the diff) in the same way?

After stripping the clear coat that the Rustoleum peel coat did not pick up. I painted my wheels gold with VHT wheel paint. Center caps are black. Then I will replace lugs with black lugs.

Hey that looks great! I was thinking of painting my 97 Eclipse wheels this color with vht as all my engine stuff is gold as well but wasn't sure how it would look dry. Thanks for the pics and good job on them!

Anybody know what kind of spoiler (or diffuser) this is called. I would love to put one on my ‘13 5

I like it thanks

Ordered parts-lots of parts for my 5 with 152,000 miles on the odometer. RF strut, bellow and mount. L fog lamp, belts, cabin filter & blower motor, driver's window actuator, LF inner fender, belly pan. Still runs and shifts good- I keep an eye on the fluids, as it leaks a little oil. Is it the best car I've had? Not by a long shot- but it gets me around.

Replaced the passenger side motor mount today. I’m trying to track down some vibration at idle when in gear (goes away in neutral). Vibration is reduced with the new mount, but not eliminated. It’s fine for now, but I may replace the transmission mount in the future.
The transmission mount on my 2012 Mazda 5 is the source of my engine shake while in gear. I haven't done it yet but there are good videos on YouTube of how to do it.

I have a 2008 Mazda5 Touring with 232,000 miles. Original engine and transmission. Went through multiple engine/motor mounts. Last week, I just replaced the NGK iridium spark plugs as one of them cracked. Oil leaked through spark plug number two causing a cylinder misfire. I ended up replacing the coil pack plugs only as the oil messed up number two coil pack plug as well.

Overall, everything is original except for the normal maintenance item. (Tire, brake, wiper, etc). The only major replacement items I had were the transmission control module failed at 140k, oil pump seal failed at 160k, and a radiator cap at 200k. The suspension and mounts are clunking, I just live with it as it is a 232,000 mile car.

I've added items such as a roof rack, LED headlights, backup camera, led interior bulbs, Bluetooth cigarette lighter, nothing fancy, but just functional.

Overall, this is a very reliable car. I've been on multiple vacations with this car on dirt trails and all. The 5 is a very versatile car, what I call the Swiss army of cars. Fun to drive, yet carry passenger, cargo, and anything you could throw on the roof.

Def not my first Mazda, but by far my favorite. This is my 09 Canadian spec Mazda5 GT. Found this unicorn with full kit including leather, sunroof, roof rack, manual and a factory navi! What a find! I named it white lies because of all the bs the dealer tried to spin. And its white! How could i not! Gave up my blue 2010 auto without navi for this one. Way happier with the manual. Any tasteful mod tips are appreciated. Was thinking 04 Rx8 wheels painted paint code matching white, a tint, and maybe a white thule. Glad to be here mazda fam. Cheers from Winnipeg!

Bought the Mazda 5 2012 a few month ago. Nice car. Love it. Ordered a few accessories for it. Some already came. Washed the car after the snow and frizzing passed away. And yesterday applied a few of the accessories.
-Finally the interior lights are all replaced to the LED ones.
-Pull the cover on the steering wheel. It was rather used or sun hit made it peel a little bit.
-Put this rubber sealing between the dash board and the windshield. I don't know why, but it was chip.
-Polished the nail scratches behind the door handles and paste some stickers to protect. It's reflects in the dark and looks okay.
-Put some covers on the door locks. Looks good.
-And some plastic covers for the door lever too.
-Some leather rugs on the back of the seats to protect. Because the kids always manage to kick it dirty.
-And the last but not least the glasses holder
That's it for now.
The rest is under way.
More to come ))

Good to see another Winnipegger! Which dealer did you get it from?

RX8 wheels would look great on it!
