What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Brought her home! :) 2020 Sport AWD in eternal blue. We got them to include the all-weather floor mats and had AA/ACP installed before pick-up. My wife is happy to be back behind the wheel of a Mazda!

We picked her up last night and the dealer even rolled out the red carpet. haha

Not on the 2020 Sport. It becomes standard on the 2021.

I felt they gave us a good deal though. $333.86 including tax.
Yes, AA / ACP doesn’t come with 2020 Mazda Sport. Now you need to upgrade your 4-speaker audio system with some better speakers ⋯ ;)

Another Mazda...Awesome! Color looks great as well...Congrats!

With the tie downs, your options are near limitless.

Also, I have the $19.00 trim to size mat.

Replaced rear brake pads and rotors @ 40K miles
Hint - Use a 6 point 14mm socket on the caliper bracket bolts and a long ratchet/breaker bar to remove. They are quite tight from factory!

What is the model year of your CX-5 GT? How did the grease on caliper pins look like?

its a 2018, probably should have while the "patient was open" but the pins moved freely so I didn't grease them.
Next time...
The reason I asked is because there’re reports here that those caliper pins seem to lack grease from the factory. I was wondering if Mazda has improved it with enough grease on these pins.

Finally found the annoying rattle noise coming from the center console, the air ducting for the rear vents that runs underneath needed to be secured...

I switched out my interior lights and license plate lights for LED lights, and added a light bar. With my lights on I end up with a blue glow from the license plate lights on my back up camera.

Did the ACP retrofit this morning.

The firmware was already upgraded when I purchased.

Not too bad. A couple of hiccups. 1) I ran the cable the wrong way. Wasn't that difficult really. 2) The most difficult part for me was reinstalling the head unti/infotainment screen. It was really finicky going back in. I would say that took me :30 to get it back in right. 3) I left the volume knob unplugged on the command knob panel. Luckily it is simple to get to.

The stock infotainment system was SO SO BAD. Happy to have carplay even with all of its foibles.

Thanks for the report. What model year is your CX-5?

Wife and I both are University of Iowa alumni and go Hawkeyes!

2017 Touring. I just bought in the past month. The firmware was updated as part of the certification process.

I'n a tavern hawk, but still love the hawkeyes! Born and raised in Iowa. Still live here.

Took my '19 GT-R to a local garage for the first oil change at 3800 miles. I provided the OEM Taiwanese filter with crush gasket and they provided the 5W30 Mobile One full synthetic oil. I guess my CX-5 is a happy Mazda.

Applied a ceramic coat from Avalon King to my Snowflake white 2019 GTR. Entire process went like this:

  1. Full exterior wash
  2. Iron remover spray
  3. Clay bar the entire car
  4. Dual action polish (Chemical Guys v38 polish)
  5. Isopropyl alcohol wipe down
  6. Apply ceramic coat and wipe down one panel at a time
  7. Cure 24 hours
Finish is super smooth with a deep shine. Photos doesn't do it justice.
