What did you pay for your CX-5?

Would love to receive feedback on the 1st proposal I have received, as I have not bought a car in 12 years!!

'21 CX-5 GT + GTPP (MA 6.25% tax)
MSRP/Retail $34,585.00
Discount $2,717.00
Selling Price $31,868.00 T
Trade Difference $31,868.00
Government Fees $100.00
Proc/Doc Fees $370.00
Subtotal (Selling Price + Addons) $32,338.00
Total Taxes $1,991.75
Total Balance Due $34,329.75

I should be able to qualify for 750 loyalty reward which is not included
this also does not look like it includes MA reg$60, Registration $75, Inspection Sticker $35

going to put 9k down and hope to finance at dealer @ 0.9% as that looks like the current Mazda deal
deep blue crystal mica, w/ Parchment

have a nice weekend everyone
Hoping to get another 500 + 750 incentive off and then in feel it is a good price for January.

Question: how often is a dealers inventory online updated..,I am watching all local dealers with GT PP and wonder if one was sold this weekend how long it would take for the car to be removed?

2020 Grand Touring Reserve
MSRP - $36,435
Sale price - $32,950
Incentive/loyalty - $2,250
TOTAL - $30,700
OTD - $33,134.85

Purchased on 12/28/2020 (From out of state dealership)

Never stepped foot inside the dealership. The easiest vehicle transaction that I have ever encountered.
Hi Jcbutta - I am planning to buy a 2020 GTR ..possibly an out of state purchase and to be shipped .. Can you please guide which dealership you bought it from?

No. I paid for shipping separately.
I got a quote . However it doe not incl sales tax and registration, which I presume for my state is another 7.5% , So my OTD will be around 37000 which is very high.
Did the price you stated incl all sales taxes ?

Please advice.

Sale price on that vehicle on the website is 30,577. Where are they getting 33k?
Oh...This was from Superior Mazda,AR since Hawk did not have Soul Red color on a GTR. But Hawk does have a good price. Did Hawk provide the conditional savings too as stated on their website?

Thanks for the tip, Ended up going with the 2021 and I'm glad I did. The 10" screen is a noticeable upgrade over the 2020 7" and feels snappier.

Just got back from the dealership and I'm loving the car :). Ended up getting it down to ~11.6% off MSRP on the White Touring + PP. This price was only valid with cash/self financing though, none of the dealers seemed to offer the special 0.9% financing around this price range.
  • MSRP: $30,600 (white/roof rack rails/cargo cover)
  • Sell price: $27,050
  • Loyalty: -$750
  • OTD: $29,330

I was still getting some responses from other dealers so there might be another $500 that you maybe able to haggle off FWIW.
You mind sharing which dealership is this? I am shopping for a GTR (A 2020 might provide a better deal)

I'm pretty sure, they could get the car you want from the other dealer. They could trade cars between themselves.

Is this a bad time to buy a 2020 GTR. I dont see dealers being very aggressive in their approach to discount them and get it off their inventory. I would see an initial email but no follow ups? I guess they rush in towards December to get their year end incentives. Any piece of advice for me if I should wait until Dec 2021 to get a CX-5 GTR ? I have not been getting good deals . I expect to pay 32K OTD (given a 7.5% sales tax ) . Is that too less?

If you don't need a new car right now, I would hold off.

Also, dealers aren't going to reply with a heavily discounted price in their initial contact with you - you need to negotiate and go back and forth a bit, compare quotes with competing dealers and leverage their offers against each other.

Here is a vehicle I am interested in: https://www.freemanmazda.net/invent...g-reserve-awd-sport-utility-jm3kfbay5l0855084

There are many experts on this forum who own a CX-5 . I am just a rookie and haven't made an auto purchase in more than 10 years. So need your guidance.

Q. How much do you think, I can negotiate and bring the price down?
Um, already at nearly 15% off MSRP it's a good deal as it stands. But make sure they're not adding...

DOC $499 (but it would still be a good deal)
paint protection - $799
fabric guard - $399
lifetime tint - $399
vehicle security tracking - $799
vin etching - $499
Windshield and Dent protection $499
nitrogen tires - $89
Parital clear bra $1.299 (you can get a partial for less than $800

On a lot of these things they'll tell you "oh we have to charge you because it's on the car already.

I spoke with Steven at freeman today, he confirmed the 31,887, plus $150 DOC. If that's the case, I would not hesitate to get down there today. Don't know the Texas market, but I think we I can agree that, at minimum, this is way more than a fair deal. Here's a screenshot he sent of an email to me, price is slightly higher because he had my ZIP code in Arizona, but he did confirm that otherwise the price is as listed for a local buyer

Buy it quick and pay off the conventional loan in a month or two.
