Squeaky doors?

:
2014 CX-5 Touring
I have noticed that the rear doors on our CX-5 make a squeaking sound when opened up fully. I looked closer and it appears that the rubber seal at the leading edge of the lower plastic trim rubs on the metal frame when the door gets all the way out. Is it supposed to do this? It's rather annoying and makes the car sound/feel cheaper/older than it really is.

The cladding on the door is "polishing" the rubber seal on the frame.

I put a narrow piece of felt on the door edge that first makes contact with the frame (I used the felt portion of a Velcro kit). Friction tape should work, too.

The leading edge of the lower body cladding rubs on the rubber body trim under the metal door sill. Does it on the front doors too. I periodically put a dab of Vaseline jelly on it and it lasts about six months.

You could also soak some silicone spray onto a rag and wipe the affected surfaces.
