2017~2024 Rust Check Question

I have been doing rust checks for two years now on my Mazda CX-5 2019, when I brought my car into the dealer for maintenance he mentioned that the procedure if sprayed near plastic or rubber I forget which one he said, he said that over time it can add up and start damaging it. Is this true?

Solution
Yes. The rubber seals around doors and hatch can soften and pucker, and begin sagging. The longest I have continuously used Rust Check is nine years. In that time the condition was never bad enough to cause problems. On the other hand, when I disposed of my 626 after nine years and my S70 after 13.5 years they were still rust-free after repeated Ottawa winters.

I treated the CX-5 for its first four years then stopped when it began spending its winters south.

YMMV

Krown is suppose to treat the rubber seals/gaskets with silicone before applying the rust proofing to assist in preventing damage but, from personal experience my local Krown dealer sometimes over looks this extra step.
