2013~2016 Replace 2.2 diesel with 2.5 petrol

I have a 2014 Cx 5 2.2 diesel 175 hp automatic transmission. I'm having too many troubles with the engine. Can I replace it with the 2.5 petrol and what would it take in terms of parts and effort?

Nowadays the engine swap from a diesel to petrol has too much work as everything is computerized. Too many components need to be replaced including many computer modules. The transmission on diesel is also different from gas engine, although it should be compatible. I wouldn’t consider such swap in any event. Just get rid of your problematic CX-5 2.2L diesel as soon as you can, and get another car with better reliability record.
