Oil Filter PN PY8W-14-302 at Amazon

Yes, the PY8W-14-302 is the correct filter for the 2019 GT-R with the turbo engine. I bought several from Amazon. The ones I bought came with the drain plug washer taped to the box so you won't need to buy those separately.

The PY8W-14-302 is Japanese made. An alternative is the 1WPY-14-302 which is made in Thailand.

Stay away from any filters that have P/N PE01-14-302A. Those are made at a plant in Mexico and there have been reports of poor quality control.

TLDS (too long didn't search) ; yes PY8W-14-302 is the correct part number for the 2.5L turbo engine used in the Mazda CX-5 & CX-9.

searching this forum for PY8W-14-302 yields the following threads:

You wouldn't use a PE01-14-302A in a turbo engine even if it wasn't made in Mexico. Previously collected information reveals.

2.5 Turbo enginePY8W-14-302(Tokyo Roki from Japan)
1WPY-14-302
2.5 non turbo enginePE01-14-302AMexico made
PE01-14-302B(Tokyo Roki from Japan)
1WPE-14-302(Denso from Thailand)
PE01-14-302A-MV(??? from Mexico)

this information and MUCH more can be found:

FYI, they might list the japanese made filter but many places including dealers no longer have anymore in stock and will send you thailand made filters. I know because I tried lol.

The PE01-14-302 , PE01-14-302A and PE01-14-302B are and were made in Japan. The MV is made in Mexico.

PE01-14-302A is made by Tokyo Roki in Japan, not in Mexico. Here is original oil filter table for 2.5L non-turbo:

There're now 3 OEM Mazda SkyActiv oil filters:

OEM Mazda
SkyActiv Oil Filters
PE01-14-302AMade in Japan with the best quality.
Comes with greased O-ring type gasket、
shrink wrapped seal on top preventing dust、
and packaged in a sealed paper box.
1WPE-14-302Made in Thailand.
Smaller in outside diameter than PE01-14-302A.
Comes with greased O-ring type gasket、
shrink wrapped seal on top preventing dust、
and packaged in a non-sealed paper box.
PE01-14-302A-MVMade in Mexico.
Comes with non-greased flat gasket、
shrink wrapped seal on entire filter、
and no paper box.

Based on picture provided by madar, Mazda OEM value-line PE01-14-302A-MV oil filter does look different from Wix 57002. But I'd still get PE01-14-302A-MV OEM "value" filter if there's no other OEM choices! :)

Thanks everyone for all your help. I'm going to try the Amazon part PY8W-14-302.
Just a reminder, if you really want Japanese made, Tokyo Roki PY8W-14-302 oil filter, make sure to communicate the Amazon seller first. Most likely you’ll receive Thai made, Denso 1WPY-14-302 oil filter and the seller will claim the PY8W-14-302 has been superseded by 1WPY-14-302.

Can anyone verify through actual experience that this filter also works for the 2019 CX-5 GTR (2.5L Turbo) ?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned)

Thanks!
The picture shown from this Amazon seller is not said Japanese made Tokyo Roki PY8W-14-302 oil filter; but it’s Thai made Denso 1WPY-14-302.

i bought from that exact listing and they send you the Thailand made. I contacted them but all they say is it's the same part for US market. After all its still valid for our cars, just wish they specify the exact model number instead of lying to people.
