I wonder if they'll use the same engine on the Mazda6 too as a step up option and if they can squeeze out some more hp/tq out of the NA skyactiv-g 2.5 and 2 liter for the facelifted model.

A good move on their part and quite the change of attitude towards turbocharging. Maybe they realized that they really do need something powerful for the MS3 and the CX-9 and/or they're finally able to turbo high compression ratio engines or both!

EDIT: Also, turbocharging the 1.5 might be a good move for them if they're planning to make the Mazda2 the most performance oriented subcompact provided they can squeeze around 180-200hp like Honda does with its new 1.5T. Plus they'd be able to utilize it in the 3 S as well, which would be quite tempting lol
