Ya, I need to replace the rears fairly soon. My plan is to get the Z23 pads and a blank PowerStop rotor (coated).

One question for those who've done this. Do the rotors on the 2nd gen CX9's have retaining screws? On cars that do, I've always had to drill those out as they tend to cease. And then I never bother replacing them, dumbest thing really.

You can get the superior Mazda damper for $160, the bearing for $63, and the mount for $34 for each side. Why is it superior?...because it's available. Where did you find Gabriels? And, no need to replace the spring.
