How many Mazdas have you owned?

2004 mazda 6 sport (sold)
2010 mazda 3 sedan
2018 mazda CX-9

The mazda 6 sport was my first mazda and cemented the love for the brand. That was a great car. The mazda 3 hs been a solid reliable second car (and main car for a year driving on the wrong side of the road in england), and the CX-9 recently replaced a 2011 ford edge which was good and practical but that I never truly "fell in love with" and started having paint issues

1992 Protege DX - sold (I'd have to dig hard for a photo of this one)

2001 Protege MP3 - totaled

Did you specifically looked for those model years? It's only been 18 years since 2002 and that makes it 2.2 years avg. ownership for each car. I owned my first car from 2002 to 2017 so maybe I have trouble letting go..

lol no. The black LX was my first car that I had up until last year- my dad has now. It's been through many changes.'
Silver p5 was bought, I put an engine in and sold.
one black p5 was donor parts car.
Sand mica ES was a buddies, that gave to me and i gave to my brother until it died- became parts car.
One titanium MSP was to be my project car- but then Titanium #2 was found for cheaper and became my project and i sold the first to someone in CT.
Second p5 was @323 daily car, that I bought for daily and now sits while I figure out what brake upgrades to do when i replace the tires and have the wheels powder coated. I LOVE this car.

'97 Demio in Burgandy -truly awful, sold
'00 Familia Sport20 in blue - stolen and written off
'01 Familia Sport20 in blue - Current daily

All owned in a row with no other brands in between!

Currently own the only two we have owned:

2014 CX-5 FWD Touring (Stormy Blue)
2016 CX-3 FWD Grand Touring (Soul Red)

The CX-3 is fun to drive, but the rest of the car is pretty meh but not having a car payment is nice so we are going to hang on to it. I do love the brand, so much so that I made a special trip from Tokyo to Hiroshima to tour the factory when I was in Japan last year. I drove my first Mazda as a rental in 2010 for 2 weeks, it was a Mazda3 Sedan which I drove all over Colorado.

I will likely own another Mazda as well at some point, my wife on the other hand does want to explore other choices when the time comes, her friend bought a Lexus RX350 that caught her eye and she is pretty big fan of the new Toyota Rav4 designs.

2002 Protege5
2001 Miata
2003.5 MSP
1991 RX-7
1993 RX-7

What’s the maintenance like owning an rx7? I guess you could compare it to a protege5.

The FC was NA so it really wasn't too bad. The FD on the other hand...it's a money pit. My last engine rebuild cost overt $20k when all was said and done.

They're gaining value lately, but it's also getting tougher and tougher to find mechanics and parts.

I owned three:

Mazda 323 1.5 GLX petrol (SALOON) 1986
Mazda 323f 1.5 petrol (HATCHBACK) 1999
Mazda 6 2.0 Skyactiv SportNav (SALOON) 2016 current

These cars never seem to breakdown and just go on forever. The first two cars did have some little rust issues, mainly under the rear sub frame and arches, which is expected given the age of vehicle but they were cared for and were regularly wash and polished, so they did last long.
