2012-2017 Mazda 5 uses low-profile mini fuses (seen at the lower-left corner of the following photo from wikipedia).

I am using a fuse tap to send power to the two USB dashcams via a step-down converter. The fuse tap has the same fuse type but it won't stay on because the elevated plastic frame surrounding the fuse socket prevents the bulky "head" of the fuse tap from getting the insertion depth it needs to stay on the socket.
I may be able to use a pocket knife and a solder iron to modify the fuse tap and make it fit but it will probably going to be a half backed product. Is there any alternative workaround for this? I am wondering if there is a some sort of fuse extension to raise the tap but still provide the necessary contact to the socket. Or should I just go slice some accessory power wire for the dashcams?
