CX-9 engine swap question

Engine is the same. The only thing that might need to transfer from the 2010 to the 2008 is the 2010 PCM and BCM.

I would not swap a 2008 engine into a 2010 model year car. I wish I could tell you specifically what is different but I can’t because I don’t know. What I can tell you is there’s several vin number differences for the 2010 engine choices if you search car dash parts. It is possible that there was some internal differences like a tone ring for the crank sensor used a different number of teeth. It would really suck to do all that work and end up with an engine that will never run right until you pull the new to you engine and swap some internal parts. Use the car dash parts search as a guide for acceptable swap engines or do some more research and see if you can discover the differences.
