CX-30 doesn't have Speed and Red Light Camera warnings?

We bought the wife a new 2021 CX-30, and I just took it for my first longer drive. My 2020 CX-5 has the warnings for the traffic cams, but the 30 doesn't seem to have it. I did a little digging and it seems some countries have it and some not, and the ones that do had to have a firmware upgrade to make it work.

Does anyone have any insight into this? It's a feature I really like. Here in Chicago speed cams are a major income stream for the city, so much so that they reduced the cams to 6 MPH over from 10 MPH. Six to nine over and they pop you for $35, ten will get you a $100 ticket.

Ya gotta love the whole speed cam scam, it's certainly NOT about safety and mostly about generating revenue...

Those things were deemed unconstitutional in my state and thus banned. The whole "face your accuser" thing.

There have been suits brought here but to no avail. When our latest Mayor ran she said she would end their use, but once she was elected and realized how much money they brought in she quietly forgot that promise, and then lowered the limits to boot.

It's part of the whole Illinois / Chicago "We're afraid to raise taxes so we'll nickel and dime you everywhere else we can" mentality. But the really outrageous thing is where they issue the largest percentage of tickets is in minority neighborhoods where the people have the least ability to pay.

You can of course make the argument (and they do) that all you have to do to not pay a fine is not speed or run a red light. That is of course true, but certainly a BS argument IRL. If you actually drive at the speed limit you'll have cars doing all sorts of questionable moves to get around you, making it actually more risky. Not the mention the increase of rear enders generated by people jamming on the brakes at the last second to avoid getting popped at red light cams..

The one suit that was won against them involved the private company that actually runs the cams getting busted working with the city to reset the yellows to less than DOT timing standards, thus raising the red light infractions and increasing the revenue. Total BS.

I would imagine the best thing to do would be pick up a quality GPS enabled radar detector like an Escort, Uniden, or Valentine 1.

@Ranman57 Are you referring to the TSR system, or in-built navigation via Mazda Connect?
That's sort of an interesting question. I say that because they installed a new speed cam near my house a year ago. I went to the mapcreator website to add it and they no longer seem to allow folks to report new cameras in an easy way, it's a whole email rigmarole thing, so I just forgot about it. All of the sudden about a month or so ago the camera warning system in my CX-5 started to notify me about the camera, but I haven't updated anything on my GPS system. So I'm not sure where the update came from, or where the cam data is stored in the car.

The TSR system in the CX-30 works fine, there are just no audible speed or red light warnings.
