Cleaning and protecting leatherette/suede seats on CX-5.

I have the leatherette with Lux suede car seats in my CX-5 and was wondering how I can protect and clean this material. I was going to buy seat covers or something placed on top of my seats to prevent the material from wear and tear so I wouldn't have to clean the seats. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like most people recommend using a fabric cleaner to gently clean and lift the dirt of the material. I know the CX-5 doesn't have alcantra and I doubt it's real suede leather but treating it as such is not a bad idea.

Several people on the detailing forums recommend using the Kiwi suede leather shoe cleaner and a light brush like the kiwi horse hair shoe brush.
