33.2 MPG with the CX-5

After cleaning up the intake valves, mine got 33.6 on a trip to the FL panhandle for the first 350 miles, then dropped to 31.2 after driving through several small towns. The trick was never over the speed limit and minimum acceleration.

Yes thats what I noticed too.
Around the speed limits and cruise control seems to be the sweet spot.
If it was manual gearbox probably could go higher mpg but it is what it is.

New poster here - been lurking for a bit. Here’s the best mpg I’ve managed so far on my 21 Touring AWD with the preferred package. This was mixed in town and two lane, stuck behind traffic doing 58 most of the way out of town. Road was pretty flat, and I have less than 3k miles so far.

I had another 28 mile drive that I averaged 35.8 on the way to work (28 miles) thanks to a state trooper keeping everyone at five over.

Edit: this was with the AC on.

Doesn't it depend on how much you use A/C or heating as well? In the summer where I am, the A/C is always on full blast + I'm using the seat cooling. I'm getting about 18mpg overall.
