2023 CX-5 Spy pictures

Looks like it may have a bunch of plastic cladding on the bottom. It that's true, and its the CX-5 replacement, some folks here are going to be upset.

Looks kinda boxy. Or at least boxier. Would have to see a regular painted version of it. Also looks bigger?

brake-esq?

so "shooting brake" esq
esquire or similar

Actually, the correct word would be “brake-esque”. Esq is an abreviation for “esquire”, a term usually meaning a nobleman or a term used after a lawyer’s name.

Seems like some upscale marks like more cladding.

AT least, if it’s clad, you should be able to replace the plastic without having to replace the fancy painted surfaces.

It sucks that the plastic rear eyelet cover on the 2nd gen, just snaps in and needs to be paint matched to the painted bumper. Likewise, the black plastic below the painted portion of the bumper can not be replaced.

I suppose something to be said for that. True.
Yeah, what I'm saying is, if they are going to use plastic, at least reap the benefit of actually being more resilient and easier to replace. Worst of both worlds is to just look tough (and cheap), but still be vulnerable and expensive.
