I bought a Cx-5 couple months ago. Everything seems nice about it except the stupid driver's side mirror which will vibrate when driving highway speed (60 mph and over). It gets even worse if I have the volume up of my radio. I have noticed this problem couple days after I purchased the car. Took it back to the dealership and they told me it's from the mirror assembly they claimed they changed it. However, the problem still persists.
I have talked to mazda corporate and their respond was:
I spoke with James at Walser Polar Mazda service department for more information on your service visit and the side-view mirror vibration concern. James let me know that your vehicle was inspected and had the door partially removed to confirm that there were no loose parts or any other concern that could cause a shaking or vibration. The service team also test drove your CX-5, and then test drove two other brand-new CX-5 models to compare, and found that your CX-5 was operating normally compared to the brand-new models.
Your CX-5 is equipped with auto folding side-view mirrors, which are designed to have enough space in the parts to be able to move freely in and out when folding. This may allow for slight movement in the mirror when driving, which would be considered in line with normal operation. After thorough inspection to your CX-5, we have found that there are no defective or failed/failing parts or components and would consider the vibration you are experiencing to be part of normal operation as per the design.
