2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring
I've heard of people installing a remote starter that is able to utilize the original factory key fob (click lock 3 times to start engine). I've got a 2016 CX-5 Touring and would like to install something like this. Has anyone had success doing this? Could you recommend a brand? I need something that will allow keyless entry to work while the car is started and for the engine not to shut down if a door is opened.

I am getting it installed this saturday and will update. Getting the Fortin EVO-ONE installed: https://fortin.ca/en/vehicles/mazda/cx-5/2017-push-to-start_automatic/

Go through the following thread and a couple of aftermarket remote start systems had been mentioned which meet your requirements. And those systems are compatible with both 2017 and 2016 CX-5s.

I couldn't wait and had this installed instead. I was lucky to have these installed because this seems to be the perfect match imo. Here are the details:

-Module from idatastart:
http://www.idatastart.com/en/products/product/HCX000A
This must be installed by a professional, its not a diy...

-MyStart Plus app:http://www.my-start.ca
This is the best for the people in Canada (Quebec & Ontario and growing). It takes around 4 seconds to get a confirmation and you can choose to setup a pin or not. You can add up to 3 users + yourself. Its really really quick!

Both + labor: $360 Cad all included.

Pros:
Very quick confirmation from the app
You don't need to restart your engine when you open the door. Once you get in, press the brake and you're good to go
You can use your mazda key fob (3x lock)
Cheaper than other brands
No monthly fees
Start your car anywhere in the world as long you have a good internet connection

Cons:
Cargo/Trunk cannot be opened with the app (honestly, who cares...)

If y'all want a video, let me know the specifics.
