Installing CX-5 rear splash guards question

Man, y'all are right, I'm an idiot. The mud guards on my Mazda5 are the ones that touch metal, not the ones on my CX-5. I had them mixed up in my memory.

I was wrong, sorry!

No need to be sorry. I know at my age now, I mis-remember things more often than before.

I installed OEM rear mud flaps on our 2014. They only touch the plastic bumper, at least on the outside. I definitely removed the rear wheels. I couldn't imagine trying to do it without removing the wheels. That probably would have made it way harder and take 2 or 3 times as long.

Putting the OEM rear mud flaps on my 2019 was no problem whatsoever without removing the the rear wheels. It may a gen1 vs. gen2 installation difference.
