The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Right-o. I just didn't know if a "paddock pass" was an option or something.

Yeah. I just looked again. It's $15 for the paddock pass (full entry except hot pits). $25 if you want the full pit pass.

I'd love to run a car in that race. I think it would be crazy fun.

Chump isn't expensive as far as road racing goes, but it's also not as cheap as it makes it sound. That said? Do it.

Maybe next year you guys can pool your monies together and make a car and all share driving duties? I'll help build/maintain it. :)

Buy my Protege for it.

And Evan... it doesn't need to be pretty. It's ok to work at my pace on these cars if you were to do that.

If you guys would be serious to build a chumpcar out of it, I give you special deal.

It would be fun. Since it is a year away it would be uber hard to commit to the car/event.

Don't forget to include safety gear for your drivers when budgeting this. Sure you can build a car for a few grand ($500 car, $400+ tires, $1500-2000 cage, another $500-1000 or so of other safety gear depending on what you get), but then everyone needs their driving suit, nomex shoes, gloves, helmet, etc. It adds up quickly.

yeah, the safety gear gets you. are you allowed to have a radio to talk to the driver?

actual budget for 1 person (without counting the car) is about 5K, at least the first time

is that the kit off the miata josh sprayed the front that was just on craigslist too?

Hahahhaha.....that's the first thing that popped into my head! I think it is...

I understand that. We'll talk. Condition is that this car has to be out of my parents driveway, and I'd REALLY prefer not to have it at the house.

Really glad you wouldn't let me (since I offered to do all the work, and you didn't have to lift a finger) swap suspensions back when I wanted to...who knows what kind of problems that would've opened up and prevented the car from being road worthy again for your sister. *rolls eyes* (nuts)

Yes you can. And exactly.
