How was BeaveRun this past weekend, Evan? I kept meaning to text you and see how you were doing.
ps- It's always hard not to yell "Hey Number two!" when I see you, from Scrubs.

Hey number one!!! HAHAHA
I went there on Friday (they used to have it on Sunday but they moved it to Friday for some reason). I had a blast and the car performed verrrrrry well. There were a lot of unhappy Porsche and Vette drivers...I would be if my $50,000+ sports car was getting passed by a red wagon HAHA.
Thanks to my new rotors and EBC Yellowstuff pads, the brakes did not fade at all! Plus, the car stopped AMAZINGLY. I know this track is known for killing brakes as it's pretty short and has a lot of turns. I went over Marc's on Thursday and swapped the rotors and pads (Thanks again for letting me use your tools and awesome lift Marc!!!!).
Those are DBA 4000 T3 front rotors and I also got Centric Premium oem rotors for the rear (you don't really need anything fancy for the rears as they don't do much). The DBA rotors are freakin awesome. I actually didn't buy DBA for the front. I ordered Centric blanks about a month ago and last Monday they still hadn't shipped. I contacted KNS Brakes to let them know I was racing Friday and NEEDED these rotors. They hooked me up because they were still waiting for the rotors from the manufacturer (been out of stock for a while). They substituted the DBA rotors at no additional cost and shipped them that day. The DBA rotors were about $150-200 more than the Centrics, so I was really happy. Talk about awesome customer service!!!!
For the track day, they have 3 groups. Groups 1 and 2 are in the morning, both with an instructor. Group 3 runs in the afternoon without any instructors. Basically, the way they determined groups 1 and 2 was pretty simple. They asked everyone to raise their hand if they've been at the track before. If you raised your hand, you were put in group 2. I was put in group 2 since I had been there last October.
After my first session, my instructor felt I was ready to run solo and move up to group 3. He had another instructor ride with me for my 2nd session, who also felt I was ready to run solo in group 3. They both signed me off and said I can sign up for 3 the next time I come, or still sign up for 2 if I still want instruction. I think if I do another track day there, I'll probably sign up for 2 again for 2 reasons. 1....it's in the morning and my car LOVES the cold. 2...there's not that many people running in the morning, so the track is less crowded. LOL
My 3rd session I ran solo and it was pretty epic. I was chasing a Lotus Exige S260 FE, who was chasing a Z06 Vette with slicks (505hp). I think my driver mod was much better because I was right behind them the whole session. They did pull slightly on the straights, but I was out-braking them. I guess I had bigger balls because I was braking very late HAHA.
All of the money I put into my car before the season really showed as the car was MUCH more stable and predictable through the turns. Nitto NT01 tires are freakin awesome btw!! Super sticky!!!!!
I just registered for the June 30th HPDE event at Mid-Ohio so I can't wait to run that track.
