The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Kevins axle nuts came off with the impact wrench and plenty of PB Blaster. That screwdriver trick works well but so does someone just pushing the brake pedal. Haha!

And Wes and I gotta get good and transmissions because the MSM tranny swap is gonna be a PITA... :(

Yeah, what good will LMS be if we can only do fwd cars?

Lol, Phen, just tell yourself 'if Dub can do it, we can do it.' Jk..

I've helped my good buddy Erik with the transmission swap on his Mustang. I've helped with pulling one from a friend's BMW Bavaria in order to replace the rear main seal. Things like that. The only big downside to RWD transmissions is sometimes getting to the bolts. We'll see what happens.

We'll use your angle grinder to cut the top off the tranny tunnel to reach the bolts and then I can weld it back on for ya!

As long as we have the transmission lift (aka Tim Timko) on hand we'll be good to go. Haha! It should be a fun swap indeed.

I've watched the old man pick up some pretty heavy s***. The front end of the one BMW we had comes to mind. Picked it up by the bumper posts like a wheel barrow and walked it back into the house. I have a video of it somewhere.

EDIT: Found it.

One of many reasons I never wanted to piss off my dad at a younger age.

I think I'm in for this saturday. About the only thing I need to do is a transmission mount and relocate my coolant tank. I'm gonna try to caravan up with Jasen.

I'm still up in the air about tomorrow. The only things to install on the RX-7 are suspension bushings and I'd be nervous driving for 4+ hours without an alignment after doing that. Going to order some of the last suspension items today so I can finally get the drop+alignment where I want it.

Levi, Evan 1, not to invite myself over, but Evan 1 and I are "pros" at clutch installs now after doing 3 in a row, lol. Well, I'm always available to lend a hand, and I like learning, too. I was really surprised at how easy the clutch was to do on Kevin's FP.

dude you are more than welcome to come out, between you, me, pablo, evan1 and evan 2 we should be able to get the job done and have a good time doing it

I have a connection @ Conrads in Akron that is real chaeap and they do custom alignments for $50. I have to take Spicy back to have an alignment done. It is the Akron/eLEET sTORE.
