Let's see some Mazda3 5-doors

too much offset with too narrow of a tire. looks rediculous imo

I'm afraid I'd have to agree. The car looks super tight but the rims/tires combo doesn't work IMHO. The rims look great but those tires are way too narrow. Sorry, just calling it like I see it, and I've been around the game for a while, shooting motorsports etc for about 20 yrs or so now.

New to the forum...

Just traded in my '02 Midnight Blue P5... onto my adventures with the 3's. DSCN0678.webp

Nice dude, wheels arent my style but if you like them thats fine.

glade you got the one with the sexy rear bumper :)

It was kind of bittersweet to part with my P5... we had 8 solid years of love and an amazing sound system. Oh well... I could use some suggestions for things to do. Definitely going to de-badge front grille and side panel deletes. Also want to swap springs and lower an inch in front and 1.5 in the back. Gotta do the audio installs first though... musicians need their music.

Well, looks like there are not that many Lava Orange M3s out there. I just bought my "Angry Pumpkin" a couple days ago.. I love this car. The transformation will come shortly and I will keep everyone posted.

Congrats on the new ride, Heff04!!
Nope, not many. Frankly, that color had to grow on me, but I like it now. IIRC, Mazda only offered that color for 2 yrs, then went to Copper Red Mica in '06... similar, but less orange, more red.
I see you have the factory (overpriced, but rare) rear diffuser? Front and rear aero's too!!

And BTW, you have an Mz3 (naturally aspirated,) not an M3 which is a BMW, or an MS3 which is turbocharged. :D

Is it an '04 or an '05? Based on the screename you chose, I'm guessing '04?
There are some very slight differences between the two years, so when/if you Mod, be aware that you may have to compensate for that. Just ask us for advice/insight if you're not sure.

yeah, I love the color on this car.. it really pulls it off. I only see this color shade on GMs which don't look as good imo. I bought the car used and you would NEVER know that it was an 04'. the previous owner took very good car of this. I turn wrenches for a living and I actually didn't know much about this car going in ( haven't seen many come in the shop ).

I'm still learning more specifically about the mazda 3's history and I'm really loving this forum. You guys have put some serious time into these cars and it shows.

I'm here to learn and to help others if I may. I have a few things I plan on doing to it, but since it is brand new to me it will take some time.

Has anyone really done some autocrossing with this? I'd be interested to see how it handles, and to see what suspension parts i'd have to buy first. I don't plan on going all out.. just a little to have a bit more fun on the weekends.

lava orange was only an '04 color for the Mazda3....same with the solar yellow/starlight green mica ;)

For that I have to disagree w/you Sir, as one of my own Moderators (on another Mazda site) has an '05 5-dr in Lava.
Solar Yellow, yes in this country, but was also offered in '03 elsewhere, such as Australia and at least parts of Europe.
Starlight Green I don't even remember though. Was it a one yr only 3i color maybe?

Heff, you might consider upgrading the front sway bar links to the heavier '05 model. Costs about $50. Here's a link where you can get them... http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/60-1154b.html

Looks great! I'm excited now. Great pics!

bbrich, That's actually a great buy. I'll have to pic some up. I was thinking of at least getting a stiffer swaybar for the rear. maybe later getting some better springs... all in due time. hardest part is deciding what to go after first.

as soon as I can pry myself away from my car for about a day or two I'm going sand blast the stock wheels and powder coat them either a black gloss or a gun metal.. It's a cheap alternative, since I have access to all the goods, to change the look drastically.

well rear tires are a free replacement for my shot eagle gt's so i dont really care for them so i push the car to the limit =] they are so slippery tho...

well i attend all kinds of events. WCMC is a miata club so its tight, lots of turns =]
fun times tho..
i run in FSP (street prepared or F'ck stock parts - whatever you like) ;)
