Got my rims back from the powder coating shop...(updated pics)

Figured I'd start a new thread since it's been so long since I've been without my rims. See previous thread for background story. It's been a LONG wait and even longer story. I have an appt. to get them mounted tomorrow morning with Hankook Ventus V12s (235/40/18).

I'll post pics soon after the car is washed and wheels are mounted.

Three months later:

wheels look nice! i already asked in the other thread... but how did you do those center caps?

i'm actually working on refinishing a set of RX-8s as we speak. not sure what color they will be just yet. but will be going with the same size tire(235/40) as you.

I am assuming those are the 08+ centercaps since the "M" can be taken off to paint them...maybe not though...

Actually, I purchased the RX-8 R3 center caps. They cost ~$30 shipped. But you can take off the flying "M" to custom paint the caps. I had the caps already, so I just picked out the closest color they could order. Worked out really well IMO. These were clearcoated since the color I chose had metallic flakes in it. Standard colors only need one coat and the baked.

hey dont mind me asking but what did they charge you per wheel

It cost $165 for all four rims. This included sandblasting. A standard color would've been $150, but this was a special order color since it has metallic flakes in it to match the center cap...and a clearcoat powder was needed, too.

sounds cheap man did he owe you somthing hahahahah reason im asking i had mine done but it was like 75 per wheel

If you know anyone looking for the centercaps with removable "M's" send them my way...I just posted up a set in the FS section...

The place is about 40 minutes from where I live. The guy owns the shop (has it paid for) but has one employee who is a close friend of his. He basically doesn't make too much money from PC'ing. Just enough to pay the electric bill and pay his friend. The powder I got was charged at cost. I was referred to them from another friend. So glad!!!

damn... my closest shop quoted me $125 per wheel!
i'm not good at math, but is seems more expensive.

love the color.. looks awesome hank! i cant wait to see them on the car. yours is my favorite cosmic blue.. i would like to do my stockers this exact color and i was wondering (if you dont mind) if u can tell me what color it is?
