Post The Best Pictures of Your Mazda

Went out with a friend and took some pics.
I would love some advice on these photos.

Thread is, "Post your best pictures." (hahaspit) Nice car but go back and redo.

That goes for a lot of the photos in this thread. C'mon guys..take your time in picking your shots. No matter what camera, work on that composition, pay attention to your backgrounds and surroundings around the subject, no neck breaking angles and use a tripod or a sturdy object if you're shooting low light.

Here's a good low-down on taking car pictures from NASIOC forums

That goes for more than 85% of the pics in here.. They are just as bad.. So go calm yourself.. I own a speed, I enjoy taking pictures of it..I'm sorry I don't walk around with a damn tripod or freaking $1000 camera in my car for when I think a shot looks good.

First one seems a little over saturated, and the framing is off since the car isnt in the center. The background is also a little busy with all the birds and trees and sings.

second has a much better background, but the framing is still off a little bit.

pretty good looking shots! you posed the car well and the camera height is good. in the first one you don't want the tree coming out the top of the car. i'd make the car block out the sign in the middle of the frame and have the tree standing to the side. in the second shot i'd have both car/building in the shade or car/building in sun. in this case you have blown out highlights and super dark shadows. also get rid of some of the negative space at the bottom and show more of the building and its windows.

Thanks I'll keep it in mind for the next time we go out.
Would you say these unmodified photos are a little better? (maybe with a little tweaking)
The tree's still coming out of my car though :( and the lighting's the same near the building but I haven't touched the contrast this time.

And I've still got those ugly plates on :(

yeah It's amazing what a difference it makes to the photo,
I had a quick go at changing the original pic a bit, Thanks for the help,
Just wish my friend's car wasn't in the reflection in this photo.

Rule of thirds, got it.

First one seems a little over saturated, and the framing is off since the car isnt in the center. The background is also a little busy with all the birds and trees and sings.

second has a much better background, but the framing is still off a little bit.

So put it in the center, got it.

So when taking a pic, put the car in the middle of the third "lines" and make sure it's also in the center of the pic.

Got it....?

lol i thougth that as well,
I think it's meant that you do one OR the other.
there's some great advice on that page i'm gonna print it out and take it with me on my next photo shoot :D

I love the tree!! Though I suppose it would have been better to have the car beside it rather than in front. Overall though really nice pics, location and car!

Thanks for the compliments,
Haven't had a chance to do much to the car yet not sure what else I should do. Definitely going to lower it soon and rims one day but out of ideas for the outside.

I would LOVE a lip but I'm in Australia and the cheapest I can find a lip is the DG one which ends up being over $1000 including postage. Not worth it.
I would like to try a HD lip but we can't even get the door seal for that here and it's expensive on eBay. :(

well that sucks, and I was thinking that I have it tough in Canada. I pity you guys ... but not really cause I highly doubt that its snowing in Australia right now.
