so i was wondering if anyone has vented their hood yet.
My father has a louver press and keeps telling me to louver the hood to get that extra heat our of there.
Seibon makes CF ones for the sti's and would make sense for us too.
prove it cause last time i checked my intercooler piping on top of the engine bay it was cold after a drive. seems like the ram air does plenty of cooling. thats why they have a factory top mount intercooler
I think the OP was more referring to either lifting the hood slightly near the cowl or an aftermarket hood with Evo-style slats.
There was a post awhile back that discussed the best method of drilling holes to mount LED's

Tis true!! I know that when I was messing with my Forge i touched our bad TMIC and it was NOT cool.
However in another thread the idea of raising the rear of the hood through the use of washers was discussed. This idea should release the excess built up heat inside the engine bay. Im not sure what else was discussed in reference to this though. Ill have to find the thread when I get to my computer.
Get an FMIC to combat heatsoak though if your really worried about.

Tis fail both of ya. Do yourselves a favor and roll on the highway @ 55mph for about 2 mins..then pull off to the side and go touch your TMIC... it will be cool to the touch and should be around ambient temps. As far as BAT's go, they will be about 20*F above ambient due to the turbo heating all that air up.
And heatsoak isnt as bad if you upgrade the TMIC. The ETS TMIC will shed heat a lot quicker.
I wonder where all the air that goes through the rad ends up... probably displaces air out of the engine bay!
.
a true SWAMPASS classic; ah, the memories. I wonder how that project turned out?
Now back to your regularly scheduled post....
