xDJ DUBx's 03.5 Pure White LX-T

oo. i dont feel like lookin for it but if i remember correctly, its certain 2003's from a certain plant

Damn it dub :(
I hate to tell it, but I told you to sort everything out before boosting... Hope its nothig big :(

So stupid. I'm thinking the flap or screw from the vtcs fell in. If the piston isn't damaged, I might save this motor.

If that "flap or screw" fell in the turbo, that you would be F-uped.
As I said before, hope everything turns out for the best and you sort the problem with minimal effort.

Its in the cylinder for sure, turbo is fine. Car is down right now and won't be started up until the problem is fixed.

dub, if it's in the cylinder then it could just as easily get into the turbo...time for a little fishing ASAP....shouldn't take long to get the bolt out, but pull the intake mani away from the turbo to examine the valves as well to make sure that there isn't any signs of further issues that you can see

replace the intake manifold or remove the VTCS if you do find a bolt in the cylinder and if you pull the intake away from the head and see that

edit: you still have that spare motor right? do you still have the intake mani on it?

didn't i tell you this yesterday?

yes is the answer. you dont have to pull the head to find the issue.

pull the intake manifold. and pull the valve cover, go fishing. like i was saying yesterday.

small telescoping magnet through the spark plug hole will make the fishing a small expedition and make any removal unnecessary if you come up empty.

correct me if I'm wrong, but the flap would be stuck in the intake, and the screw would be whats in the combustion chamber...

i do believe it's possible that the flap "COULD" get past the valve and into the head/on top of the piston. DEF the screw will be there.

i do believe i've read about at least one instant where the flap was there. w/e anyways.

Yes, I've seen pics of the butterfly actually stuck right at the top edge of the cylinder so that the piston would catch the edge of it on the up stoke and push it into the spark plug.

If the flap itself got into that position, would that not make an awful sound??? I'm sure it would be VERY obvious that something was wrong if that was the case, lol.

I'm halfway through getting the head off. Anyone got any pointers on removing the bolts on the bottom side of the intake?
