Canadian EGR valve exposed

If anyone needs a Canadian EGR I might be able to hook a few people up if you are having trouble getting a hold of one. I've had this EGR installed for 2 years (about 2 months after I got the car) and have never had a problem since

why does the screws need replacing? this s*** is hard to kill... if it dies, it's just getting replaced again.... **** cleaning!

Just like mspeedP5 said - they can be easily damaged. I installed a Canadian EGR Valve, but had to remove solenoid first to gain some space. Then I attached solenoid to the valve with the same brand new screws (Philips type), and it was pain in %^& with the last screw.

Rock Auto now sells the Canadian EGR valve for those who have trouble getting it... downside is only 90 days/3000 miles warranty (instead of 12 months unlimited mileage from Mazda Canada)

I'll say it again... FORGET cleaning your original EGR valve.... too much effort and time involved and it will fail again! FORGET replacing it with a USDM one... it will fail also! Just throw this Canadian s*** on and stop worrying about the EGR again!

just went to my Mazda dealer in Montreal, and they have a good 10 of these in stock. Im going to pick on up this week and get it installed before winter comes! Thanks for the info.

I wonder if its suspose to be free for canadain owners?

I currently have about 27K miles on my MSP and I live in Hawaii where it's warm all year round. However, it doesn't idle smoothly...not sure if the EGR is the cause. Would getting the canadian EGR valve really benefit me? Also, I've always been reluctant to install a rear motor mount because of the work involved. Should I go ahead and get both to install them at the same time?

I'm not sure if this is posted but NAPA, Advance auto and murray's/O'reilly's can order this CAN part from any of their US stores,

(poke) will this even help people in warm climates?

I'm sure the carbon still builds up, but I'm with you. My EGR has been cleaned and cleaned, I think its just toast (227,000 miles on the car).

I'm not sure going through the hassle of the Canadian EGR is worth it over just going with the revised US EGR, did anyone notice this post from page one?

So does the original EGR valve not have that little metallic shield thingy? Cause I have that exact EGR valve in my '01 Protege LX 2.0, but I always assumed it was the original from when the car was new. And it really hasn't acted up on me - I went to clean it at 90k miles, and there was little to no carbon buildup. Knock on wood.(ugh)

I would say he has the updated US EGR, and if there was little to no carbon buildup at 90k, and his profile indicates he lives in Iowa, I should be good to go in Memphis, TN...

Ordered the updated US EGR from rockauto, I only plan to keep the car another year, I just want to rid it of its crazy idle problem...

Next is motor mounts.

Yeah, I'm still not sure I understand the correlation between carbon buildup and temperature. I mean, it can get 20 or 30 below zero here in January, but I don't really think that my EGR valve has frozen up because of it. Of course, my car is garaged, so...

ive seen some ppl selling egr block off plates on here what does it accomplish to not have one on our cars
